FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How long can you stay in the UK on a Skilled Worker visa?

Your Visa can last up to 5 years before needing to extend it. After 5 years you may be eligible for IDLR.

Is it hard to get a Skilled Worker visa?

When applying for a Skilled Worker visa there are some industries that will be easier to obtain a visa in. This is because some of these roles will be on the shortage of occupation list meaning the Home Office has determined these roles need to be filled as a priority within the UK. However, this doesn’t mean the role you are going to fill needs to be on the shortage of occupation list to be approved.

What is a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) and why is it relevant to my Skilled Worker application?

A Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) is an electrotonic certificate which is a record assigned to each foreign worker that is employed by a buisness with a Sponsor Licence. When securing your job offer and making an application to enter as a Skilled Worker your employer will need to provide you with your CoS as proof of their intention to employ you.

How long will my application take to process?

It will take 3 weeks if you are outside the UK and 8 weeks if you are applying from inside the UK.
