A person seeking a Student Visa is someone who wants to come to the UK to study for longer than 6 months. When making an application for a Student Visa you are permitted to also apply with any partner or dependants that would be travelling with you for the duration of your course. You will be expected to prove to the Home Office that being a student is your main reason for being in the UK as well as applying for extensions when required until the completion of your course.
*Please note that this list is non-exhaustive and further information may be required and advised upon seeing our instruction*
** Please note that if you have a dependant and wish to bring them with you as part of your application this is something that can be done. We ask that you please mention this when contacting us as the main applicant about their eligibility and fees.
FAQ
This amount varies depending on your circumstances. We can of course help and guide you on this amount after assessing your individual circumstances.
No, being in the UK on a Student Visa is not a route to British Citizenship. However, as a student if you obtain a job within the UK once you have completed your degree then you can apply for a Skilled Worker Visa which is a route to British Citizenship
For most students there is a maximum period of 5 years in which you can be in the UK on a Student Visa.
Yes, but the maximum amount of time that you can work in term time is 16 hours per week. In the summer time you can work more but please seek guidance with us on this so that you do not breach any immigration rules. This is because your main reason for being in the UK is to Study and not Work. The Home Office takes any breach in this area very seriously and your Student Visa can be revoked immediately for this reason alone. However, if you have come to the UK with a partner then that partner can work as much as they wish whilst in the UK with you as their main applicant.
